An FBI agent warned superiors in a memo three years ago that U.S. officials who discussed plans to ship terror suspects to foreign nations that practice torture could be prosecuted for conspiring to violate U.S. law, according to a copy of the memo obtained by NEWSWEEK.

In the Democratic Radio Address today, Senator Daniel Inouye, of Hawaii, criticized the GOP today “for not doing enough to help troops fighting in or returning from Iraq.” Inouye is an World War II Army veteran who lost his right arm while serving.

John Kerry Applauds Bill Frist For Breaking with Past and Party to Embrace Stem Cell Research. I applaud Senator Frist for breaking with the president and his party on stem cell research. The issue of stem cell research is deeply personal and fundamentally moral. These moral questions should never be answered lightly, but our humanity and our responsibility to those suffering demands we answer them.

Administration’s energy policy works for Saudi Arabia and big oil, but not for American people. It’s time to tap America’s strength to control our own destiny. >”Our nation’s energy crisis has reached historic levels. We need policy whose boldness is commensurate with that crisis. But that’s not what we’re getting. Instead, we’re getting a pork-laden lobbyist driven dream bill. It’s inexcusable.
