Studio City, CA Cindy Sheehan Vigil Gets National Coverage

The Cindy Sheehan Vigil that I attended last night in Studio City, CA has been featured in a Yahoo Slide Show and other MSM stories. The vigil was sponsored by the Studio City Neighbors for Peace & Justice.

Studio City Neighbors for Peace & Justice sponsors the longest running weekly anti-war protest in the Los Angeles area. They meet every Friday night on the corner of Ventura and Laurel Canyon Blvds.

My post on the vigil can be found here. Here’s a few of the Reuters News photos from Yahoo:

Southland locations for vigils on behalf of Cindy Sheehan included Santa Monica, Studio City, Westwood, Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks.

Hundreds of people lit candles and held hands in a circle at the vigil in Woodland Hills, near Warner Center Park, said Chuck Rossie, one of the event’s organizers.

Actors Richard Dreyfuss, Ed Begley and Ed Asner attended a vigil in Studio City.

“I just wanted to come out tonight in support of her and all the men and women whose lives have been lost over there in Iraq,” Begley said.

Sheehan has “shown the world … what one person can do,” said Asner, a longtime activist.
