Thoughts for the Day

The Democratic Daily has been a place where many of us come to share our emotions as much as our ideas. The ongoing tragedies in Iraq, Afghanistan, New Orleans and now Indonesia, often overwhelm our capacity to cope with the next news story of human misery. In keeping with our efforts to maintain a positive and constructive dialogue, we occasionally put up thoughts for contemplation. Memorial Day presents an ideal opportunity for quiet reflection on those who have served and rest in peace.

Thanks for sharing these. I think today with all the news from Iraq and Afgahnistan was very distressing Memorial Day. Hearing W with the stay the course routine was disgusting!

Oh is he still staying the course?

Remember the Chechov play The Cherry Orchard?
The family wouldn’t leave the home even though demolition was going on all around and destined for them.

It’s all in the cards. After this carnage we will be shell shocked and war weary, so our next President can take over and get to work on all the serious issues facing us, one of them being staying out of war for awhile.

    This one was a doozy.

    No words but THANKS.
To everyone who fights and everyone who cares for the fighters.

Thanks for sharing those thoughts with us Ginny. Wise words from wise men.
