Bolton To Leave Post as U.S. Envoy to U.N.:
“President Bush said today that John R. Bolton will end his service as the United Nations ambassador when his appointment ends this month. Because [his] was a recess appointment, Mr. Bolton’s term expires when the current Congress ends its term later this month.
President Bush said that he accepted “with deep regret” Mr. Bolton’s decision to end his service. “I am deeply disappointed that a handful of United States Senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate,” Mr. Bush said. “They chose to obstruct his confirmation, even though he enjoys majority support in the Senate, and even though their tactics will disrupt our diplomatic work at a sensitive and important time.”
Right, even though none of that is true, particularly the part about enjoying “majority support in the Senate”. Even members of his own party didn’t want The ‘Stache re-appointed, and they surely didn’t want to watch Bolton lose in his vaunted “up or down vote.”

Oh here we go, the Democrats are being obstructionists just because they have reasons to disagree with an appointment that was made during a recess- when they couldn’t oppose it then. Bush had Bolton in there for over a year thanks to his misusing the recess appointment option.
I say to hell with Bush and ‘Stache. Neither one is wanted or needed! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
