Female Suicide Bombers

A fascinating article at Policy Review (Hoover Institution) by Judith Miller, about women who become suicide bombers. If you want to know more, you can also watch this video at Bloggingheads.

The article is a long read, but it is definitely worth it.

As an aside, it is fascinating to hear her say at Bloggingheads that she decided not to visit Gaza, because word was that Palestinian terrorists were planning to kidnap a Western journalist. So, she decided not to go to Gaza. A little later Alan Johnston (BBC) was kidnapped.

One Response to Female Suicide Bombers

  1. Darrell Prows says:

There’s that old saying “practice what you preach”. I guess that if Osamma Bin Laden believed in that, we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. Our tradition is for the troops to look at the officer and say “if you’re willing to risk your life, I’m willing to risk mine”. I’m not sure that there is a way to bridge to a culture where the underling says to the leader “I relish certain death for me, and certain life for you”.
