Donnie jumped on me over at AoF for not having weighed in yet on the Vitter indiscretion, so I thought I’d share this via C&L.
You’ll remember the Senator’s statement: “This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible. Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there — with God and them.”
He better be on his hands and knees groveling to his wife because she certainly has some strong opinions on the matter:
“In 2000, Vitter was included in a Newhouse News Service story about the strain of congressional careers on families. His wife, Wendy, was asked by the Newhouse News reporter: If her husband was as unfaithful as former President Bill Clinton, would she be as forgiving as Hillary Clinton?
“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”
LOL. For a guy who believes abstinence only is the best for of sex eduction (not to mention all the other draconian hypocritical measures Donnie points out he supports) he may be Senator Vasectomy before too long.

In the interest of Truth, Justice and the American Way, I just want to be sure that this is understood as a joke being played on Vitter’s name.
Being a firm believer, and very happy camper, when it comes to vasectomies, I don’t want any intelligence challenged bearers of the Y chromosome to confuse a real vasectomy – for the purpose of conception control – with what is being alluded to here.
It should be understood that, like most women, there have been times I have thought about doing the Bobbit stroke on some person of the opposite gender. Most of these thoughts have occured in the past seven years, about people I had no intimate knowledge of. Other than they seem bent on screwing the country and the world.
