Chief Justice Roberts: Epileptic?

As Pamela noted below concerning Chief Justice John Roberts’ seizure and fall yesterday, buried in the story is this bit of interesting medical knowledge, noting that Roberts suffered a similar seizure back in the early 1990’s:

By definition, someone who has had more than one seizure without any other cause is determined to have epilepsy, said Dr. Marc Schlosberg, a Washington Hospital Center neurologist who is not involved in the Roberts case.

“Whether Roberts will need anti-seizure medications to prevent another is something he and his doctor will have to decide. But after two seizures, the likelihood of another at some point is greater than 60 percent.”

Interesting. Obviously we all hope a speedy recovery for the Chief and his family, but did I really need to know how Doofus-in-Chief feels about it?

“Bush called Roberts Tuesday morning. ”The chief justice assured him that he was doing fine,” White House press secretary Tony Snow said. ”The president was reassured.”

“Reassured”? Why do I give a sh*t whether the Decider is “reassured”? Shouldn’t it be about the Chief and his health at this point?

Not that Bush has an empathetic bone in his body, but what an odd way of expressing concern or condolences over someone’s health. I”m sure the phone conversation went something like “whew, you had us scared, John, you get better and keep on voting the right way, y’hear?”

Idiot.

Wow. Where did you get a tape of that phone call? You’re good.

  2. Well if the decider is reassured, then so am I. Priorities people! I was worried that the commander guy would be upset. I feel much better now. 🙄
