I’m back!

Many were shocked at my thoughts on giving up the blogging. I sent word that I intended to extend my blogging tour of duty. Well folks, I’m back, and I have something to say. Prepare for blogger combat! I’m ready to fight! The Katrinacrat is back and ready to take some wingnuts to task. I got a little rest, and I’m itching for a fight. My service was acting stupid for the last couple of days, so I didn’t get to post the Katrina video me and the Reaper put together. We plan to do it still. Better late than never. Reaper has been MIA with work, but is looking forward to getting back soon. He’s kinda angry right now. … Continue reading

Bad Fiction Writers Go To Congress

Pamela and Todd have covered this below, but the statement that Larry Craig released this afternoon is such a shameless and transparent lie that it deserves special attention. (Please don’t tell the “Congressional Potato” about it.) Good fiction writing gets you on the bestseller list. (Hopefully). Bad fiction writing, evidently, gets you into Congress. Alberto, move over! There’s a NEW contender for most shameless pathetic liar in Washington, D.C. Within a DAY of Gonzales’ resignation, convicted sex-offender Senator Larry Craig of Idaho, pleading complete cluelessness about how the law actually works, served up this whopper: ABC News reprints Craig’s statement (And here it is on his Senate website): I did nothing wrong at the Minneapolis airport. I regret my decision … Continue reading

Senator “Wide Stance”

Pamela has already mentioned the brouhaha over Senator Larry Craig, Republican of Idaho, and his “indiscretion”. Craig, who sponsored the Defense of Marriage Act and actively campaigns against gay marriage, “was arrested in June by an undercover police officer in a men’s bathroom at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in the case three weeks ago. “According to a police report obtained by the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call, which disclosed the episode and the guilty plea Monday, a plainclothes police officer investigating complaints of sexual activity in the bathroom arrested the senator on June 11 after what the officer described as sexual advances made by Mr. Craig from an adjoining stall. “The officer said Mr. … Continue reading

Class Warfare-Making Sure That The Wealthy Get Their Share, And Yours Too

I’m on dozens of Email lists, everybody from the New York Times to Victoria’s Secret (great articles over there) sends me Email and I spend way too much time scanning and deleting most of it daily. I subscribe to Email lists from news organizations, campaign committees, government watchdog groups and all kinds of public service organizations. I also get stuff addressing me as Dear One, with great investment opportunities in Nigeria and missives that promise to make me larger, but I delete them all summarily as I have nothing to invest and…, never mind. Most of what I receive is of a “progressive” or “liberal” nature but in the interest of knowing what the adversary is up to, I also … Continue reading

Nugent Disgusts Anew, My Response

Readers may recall the grand Faux Nooz Flap of July, wherein Sean Hannity featured my Democratic Daily July 5 post on Nugent’s disgusting Wall Street Journal attack on the “Summer of Love” and an entire generation on July 4 as a) cover for Ann Coulter’s remark that terrorists should assassinate John Edwards, and b) THEN, in the same week, that his “friend” Ted Nugent and his family lived in fear of my “assassinating” him/them. (I know. It was an astonishing distortion of what I had written, but we pass over that mess in favor of the newest one.)
