  1. Just recall the different rationals this administration of deceit has used in an attempt to sell this war:
    1. They have weapons of mass destruction.
    2. Iraq has bought uraninum from Africa to
    enhance it’s nuclear program.
    3. Sadaam is an evil dictator who must be
    overthrown.
    4. Iraq has chemical and biological weapons
that it will use to destroy Israel.
    5. Our goal is to establish a model middle
eastern democracy, which will bring about
    peace for the entire region.
    6. As the Iraqui troops stand up we will
    stand down.
    7. Iraq is a breeding ground for terrorists.
( This one may likely be true. Our
    pre-emptive invasion had this result.)
    8. There is a direct Iraq-Al Quida link.
    9. We simply can’t leave because it will mean
that all killed US troops will have died
in vain. (So, logically let’s just stay,
so more can die in vain.)
I forgot the grand daddy of them all, “Mission Accomplished” which happened during the infamous Bush photo-opt.
To this administration the end has always justified the means. The legacy of Bush, Cheeney, and Rove will be one of absolute deceit. Just think, President Clinton was almost impeached due to a White House sexual indiscretion. “The Decider” has been responsible for the deaths of almost 4,000 US troops without any punishment. He almost single handededly destroyed our Constitutionally established system of checks and balances. We went to war against a country which had never attacked us. How and why have we permitted this blatant abuse of power to occur?

  3. You’re absolutely right, Buzz. Worse, we’ve become dazed or inured to the lying, and the only thing that matters is that MoveOn.org said things that made General Petraeus cry.

    Witness the swiftboating just today.

  5. Darrell Prows says:

Two days ago, some Bush “counter terrorism” guy called Bin Laden “irrelevant” now. I guess that that means we no longer need to be concerned about having Al Qaida follow us back here if we ever are lucky enough to achieve a withdrawal
