While I’d like to agree with the initial comment about bin Laden being more useful alive than dead, I think it’s far more likely that Bush & company are simply too incompetent to catch the guy. I mean, let’s face it. They just aren’t firing on all cylinders here. Never have been.

Call it what it is: a bumbling daisychain. Bleh.

No sources cited. No reason given for the decision not to go for it, nor any mention of who was actually in the loop.

With half of the story left out, it’s tough to know what to believe. Is Bush a bonehead? Of course, and worse. Did he screw this up? Who knows?
