From the N.Y. Times: Boston Sweeps World Series Again Before Dust Settles on 2004 Crown

They have gone from exorcism to coronation in record time. The Boston Red Sox, who fought ghosts for most of the last century, are the premier team of the new millennium.

The Red Sox won their second World Series in four years Sunday, edging the Colorado Rockies, 4-3, in Game 4 at Coors Field. They are the first team to win multiple championships since 2000, and with a deep payroll and a stable of talented young pitchers, they may be poised for more.

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox for bringing it home again.

There’ll be celebrating in old Bean Town today! I guess it’ll always be my hometown, no matter how far I’ve traveled in this life’s journey. I hope this gives other teams who have been in the doldrums encouragement to lift their sights to the possibility of breaking their losing streaks and also going to the top one day. Massachusetts takes such a hit from neocons for being too liberal and progressive, maybe their sports teams’ winning streak can carry over to politics and soon the liberal/progressive agenda will also make its way to the top, that is, in the presidency of JK. Ever hopeful — is there any other way to be!!!
