How about a mediator? How about twelve men good and true? How about any unbiased process? No, the requirement is to change the mind of someone whose mind is already made up, and won’t be honest irrespective of any showing made.

I wish that this little situation was getting more air play, because it would end up being just one more nail in the conservative coffin.

(Actually someone in Congress needs to hold some hearings on the whole matter and send out a big old boatload of subpoenas.)

First of all I am very glad that John Kerry challenged these Swift Boat Liars. I am certainly not surprised when the right wing extremists try to weasel out of their promise.
It just shows that the right wingers have no integrity.Never did, never will!

Pickens *cough John O’Neill cough* is per usual, moving the goal posts.

First it was an offer to ANYONE who could prove ANYTHING the SBVT liars claimed was not true.

Now it’s anyone except John Kerry, unless he jumps through ever higher and higher hoops.

When you make a challenge for proof you don’t get to pick what kind of proof it is. Either Kerry makes his case or he doesn’t.

They’re on a fishing expedition, just looking for an excuse to get to Kerry’s personal information. And the reason they especially want the records for the years he was in the reserves, even though they’re already public, is that they have been exercising the fantasy that he was not honorably discharged. Of course, actually reading the records and the related stats and regs would have proved the fantasy false, but that’s too much like actually caring about the “truth.”

And of course they move the goalposts in another major way, by changing the offer to proof about anything SBVT claimed, to proof about their ads only … yes, their opinions.

Why is Pickens only willing to defend SBVTers’ opinions? Why is he afraid to defend their book, press releases and articles, and media interviews?

Because it’d be easy Pickens? I think so.
