		<description>Yes, but what people dont want to recognize is the fact that many fixed income people and elderly people can not afford the increasing premiums that their health plans are leaving them with. The big companies do nothing but sit back and collect everyone&#039;s money while this is happening. 
 AARP has set up http://www.thisissoridiculous.com so that we can sign a petition to make our voice heard. They also offer updated news, videos and the opportunity to e-mail your congressman to let him know how you feel. I’m working to help AARP promote better Medicare. This is an important issue in the US right now and we cant let it get any more out of hand than it already has.</description>

Part of the benefit of going &quot;universal&quot; can be cost savings but I just don&#039;t see savings materalize, without a substantial reduction in both quantity and quality of health care, if we retain insurance companies as gatekeepers to the system. They simply will not settle for a lower profit margin than they are used to.</description>
