This clip gave me an upset stomach. Here we go again!! A Presdient has to represent ALL of the American people, this would include atheists and agnostics. Therefore, any candidate who feels his suge in the polls is due to the intervention of his personal God should be disqualified. As I have stated in previous posts, althought sworn in on a Bible, the President is sworn to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, not the Bible's King James version. President's have to possess the ability to seperate their personal/family religious beliefs from their executive duties. If they find if impossible to do so, they should not be a candidate. The idiot we have running the country now thinks it was God who made it President, when it was actually Florida's Katheline Harris.
I make these comments as a church going Baptist person. I am in our church choir and have a fervent belief in Jesus. However, if I were to pemit my religious affiliation to become the guiding priciple in seeking public office--I would deserve to lose!!! Buzz

No Huckabee's gain in the polls in not driven by God. But folks I gotta say this:

Andrew Sullivan (a right winger on economic issues if there ever was one). The same millionaire pundit who not only believed the "Kerry made fun of the intelligence of the troops" spin in Oct. 2006, but found it to be confirmation of Kerry's "elitism". Yep, a compassionate man like Kerry is attacked by a millionaire Reagan disciple who spews more BS than "Tweety" Matthews. Why are we listening to this guy? Because he said some critical things about the Christian Coalition and other likeminded groups? Folks, Andrew Sullivan is an openly gay man (strongly in favor of gay marriage) and living in ultra-cosmopolitan Washington DC. What did you expect him to say? "I can't get enough of these conservative evangelicals"?

And no, I don't have any trouble with gays or gay marriage-indeed a close friend of mine just got married to her girlfriend in Canada, and I cheered her all the way.

We dems need to be careful. If Obama were to say he felt lead by Allah on any certain issue, we would hold that in respect. As much as we'd like to, we can't bash this guy just because he feels lead by the Christian God.

It's getting to the point that if there were an atheist running, I'd have to swing that direction just on principle. Is there anyone outh there who is not running for head of the church?
