Obama’s New Iowa Ad: ‘Our Moment Is Now’

Earlier I posted Wes Clark’s new Hillary Clinton ad for Iowa. Now it’s time to take a peek at Barack Obama’s new Iowa ad: “Our Moment Is Now’:

As Greg Sargent notes on TPM Election Central:

The ad never mentions Hillary, but it features footage of him again making the case here that she is too encumbered with baggage to be the game-changer he is. Obama closes the ad with: “I don’t wanna spend the next year or the next four years refighting the same fights that we had in the 1990s. I don’t wanna pit red America against blue America. I want to be the President…of the United States of America.”

As I noted here in my post about Wes Clark’s Clinton ad, I don’t like seeing Obama using these tactics to attempt to sway voters. The difference between the Clinton ad and the Obama ad is that Clark tells voters what he feels Clinton’s strengths are. Obama tells voters not about his own strengths but what he perceives as his opponent’s weaknesses.
