Sexism ‘Alive and Well’ on the Campaign Trail in NH

I grew up on the Massachusetts – New Hampshire border and lived for 33 years years not far from where this incident happened today in Salem, NH. It’s just another sad statement on the treatment Hillary Clinton is getting that is, to be frank oh, so sexist: Sphere: Related Content

The Sexist Spin Gets Deeper

Stuart posted the video below of Hillary Clinton’s tearful moment on the campaign trail in New Hampshire today. I got to say, I am just downright disgusted at the sexist spin over this. Downright disgusted. And what respect I had managed to muster for John Edwards message of late… well, that is down the tubes at this point after the comment he made. As Matt Stoller noted in his post about this, “Todd Gitlin is right – John Edwards...

Kerry Stays Out Of The NH Fray

Last night I reported here about a rumor that John Kerry would be endorsing Obama soon. I checked with my sources, as I noted in my post and was told that ”Kerry still hadn’t decided.” Kerry stayed out of the NH fray today, the last day before the primary and opted instead to visit a waste-to-energy prototype plant in New Bedford, MA.. Kerry, who is running for re-election in the Senate, made it clear when asked why he wasn’t in...

You may find something you didn’t expect. I did. I only wish she had found, in her evident...

Hillary and Bill Missed The Key Question on Change and ‘The Agents for The Status Quo’

Experience isn’t a bad word and being experienced doesn’t automatically make a candidate a captive of the ‘status quo’. The one most telling question that Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson missed interjecting into the last debate would have been to aggressively challenge either John Edwards or Barrack Obama to identify, specifically, who on that stage was an ‘agent for the ‘status quo’? I would love to have heard that answer and then hear it defended. (Perhaps someone in Senator...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

January 7, 2008 5:27 am

It’s official.  The election season is in full swing, with two caucuses (Iowa and Wyoming) behind us and one right in front of us (New Hampshire). A lot of people are very excited that Barack Obama has pulled an early lead ahead of John Edwards and Hillary Clinton.  And it looks like Obama is seeing a nice boost or surge, if you will, from this early election season victory. Despite all the endorsements of candidates like Obama, Edwards, Kucinich...
