Bye Bye Fred

So Fred Thompson has dropped his bid for the Republican presidential race: “Today, I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort,” Thompson said in a statement. In the statement, Thompson did not say whether he would endorse any of his former rivals. He was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in...

The 35th Anniversary of Roe v Wade

January 22, 2008 4:09 pm

Today is the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. It’s a good day to reflect and ask “have we come a long way, baby?” For those who have fought to keep this right for us, we are grateful. And yet, we know we still must fight to retain this right. We need leaders to protect that right. Senator John Kerry, our ’04 nominee, reaffirmed his support for Roe v. “The American people should not have to work so hard to get leaders who will actually help them...” — Hillary Clinton Stepping aside from the clash during last night’s debate, I’ve been thinking about the statement above from Hillary Clinton in her closing argument in the debate. American’s are struggling in this ever tumbling economy just to get by. Hillary Clinton gets that. The economy is “the number one issue,” in her campaign because she gets that the economy “is where we live.”...

Post Debate: Clinton and Edwards Chat and Is Obama Off Message?

January 22, 2008 11:11 am

Word has it that Hillary Clinton and John Edwards met for a little private chat last night “in the Edwards campaign green room.” One of the sources said the meeting happened by chance and the conversation consisted of light chatter. The source added that Clinton did jokingly take a jab at Edwards about his beating up on her during the debate. In fact, the real fireworks were between Clinton and Barack Obama. And of course this meeting leaves everyone to...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

Excuse the lateness of my blogging.  Mother Nature is kicking my behind and I decided that I needed to just curl up for a few days until the butt-kicking subsided. I have been ill, but I haven’t been completely out of the loop.  It’s looking a lot like the world is in free-fall, financially, and the presidential campaigns are heating up in preparation for the “big game”, also known as “Super Tuesday”, on February 5th.  The financial slide is...
