Senate Republicans Fail in FISA Cloture Bid

In the end, four Dems crossed over to vote with the Republicans: Sens. Mark Pryor (D-AR), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA). Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) was the lone Republican to vote with the Dems.[...]

But, The Swamp wins the headline of the day: “What we do in the Senate . . . echoes in eternity!,” for casting Senator Christopher Dodd’s press release on the vote as ”a (virtual) roar that Russell Crowe in Gladiator would appreciate, Dodd vowed to “continue to fight retroactive immunity with all the strength any one senator can muster.”"
