It’s About People: Clinton Campaign Announces Unprecedented Live Webcast Town Hall

It has been my contention here that Hillary Clinton has displayed over and over again that her campaign is about the people. If you listen to Clinton speak, she reiterates through out her speeches that she’s listening to the people as she travels across the country. She’s listening, and she’s acting in her proposals on the issues that matter most to the people.   Today, the Clinton Campaign announced in a conference call that on Monday February 4, 2008, they will...

A Question for Senator Kennedy

January 30, 2008 2:32 pm

Senator Ted Kennedy sent out an email appeal for donations for the Obama campaign today and also has a post on DKos and BarackObama.com about his endorsement of Barack Obama. While I have the utmost respect for Senator Kennedy and consider myself to be (as I have said here before) a life long Kennedy Democrat, I feel some what dismayed by his claims that Obama is “a leader who has the extraordinary ability to move our country past the politics of...

One More Insult to Injury

The most disturbing aspect of the sorry spectacle of President Bush's last State Of The Union Address —his airbrushed rendering of his Mideast misadventure. Where it concerned the situation in Iraq the president's address wasn't any realistic accounting of the state of affairs. It was a delusional display of false premises and distorted fantasy.

On Edwards Decision to End His Campaign

John Edwards speech:  I wasn’t a John Edwards supporter, but today I feel a profound sense of sadness that he has made the choice to drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination. His decision had to be tough for his entire family and I know Edwards supporters are deeply saddened. From the bottom of my heart, I wish the Edwards family well and thank them all for their dedication to our country. Upon Edwards’ withdrawal, the race...

McCain: Less Jobs, More War

January 30, 2008 8:01 am
By

Once again, the most prescient comments from last night’s coverage of the Republican primary in Florida came from the more conservative analysts, Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough. As it became clear John McCain was going to win, Buchanan and Scarborough had this exchange: JS: “There is no way conservatives are going to rally and turn out big for McCain if he’s the nominee.” PB: “Look at his proposals, Joe. He’s said the jobs are gone and aren’t coming back;...

Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

It’s still January and yet, I am sick to death of politics. Sadly, the primary wars are just like major car wrecks: you can’t help but stop and take a quick peek, no matter how gruesome the carnage may be. The same can be said for my penchant for watching bad musical movies. And it’s not just “musicals”, per se, it’s any movie where the central focus is music. Today’s musical interlude comes from the movie, “Music and Lyrics”...

Clinton Wins Florida and The Delegate Question Looms

January 30, 2008 12:19 am

Hillary Clinton had a decisive victory in Florida’s primary tonight, but the question looms of whether the delegates will be seated at the Democratic Convention this summer. Here’s Hillary Clinton talking to Wolf Blitzer about the win, the delegates and the the issues that matter to voters (h/t to Taylor Marsh): Once again Hillary Clinton proves in the interview above that she’s confident and on the mark on the issues. And she makes a point that would seem to be...
