The Odd Facts of Delegate Numbers in California
By: Stuart O'NeillI will not pretend to understand the very complex rules of the California Democratic Party with regard to delegate counts after the Primary.
I do know these two things:
A. It’s possible for a popular vote winner, like Hillary Clinton by nearly 10 points, to wind up with less delegates than the popular vote loser.
B. If a candidate gets 62% or more in a Congressional district they are awarded an extra delegate. HRC got just one district at 67%.
How will the delegates be divided? I don’t know but I’ll be looking online for more information. My guess is that Barrack Obama will have nearly as many delegates as Clinton after the dust settles.
