In The News and Blogs

I noted here late last night that I hadn’t posted much in the past few days because I twisted a knee and have been playing catch up with my business.  Today, added to the mess with software issues, a returned shipment (to an international client) from the post office and the need to favor my knee, so it heals.

I just wanted to take a moment to let readers know that my light posting here is not for lack of wanting to. Here’s a few recommended reads for the day:

Joe Wilson on why he’s supporting Hillary Clinton and not Barack Obama: Battle Tested.

Sen. Hillary Clinton is one of the few who fully understood the stakes in that battle. Time and again, she reached out to my wife – outed CIA officer Valerie Plame Wilson – and me to remind us that as painful as the attacks were, we simply could not allow ourselves to be driven from the public square by bullying. Mrs. Clinton knew from experience, having spent the better part of the past 20 years fighting the Republican attack machine. She is a fighter.

But will Mr. Obama fight? His brief time on the national scene gives little comfort. Consider a February 2006 exchange of letters with Mr. McCain on the subject of ethics reform. Read on

I love ya, Pam – but I sense some STRONG anti-Obama language in your posts lately!

“STRONG anti-Obama language”? As compared to the Hillary-haters language prevelent in the news and blogs?

I’m not really sure what to say. I consider myself to be a very temperate blogger compared to many, yet in recent days others judge me differently. I’m supporting Hillary and will as I have said here many times, support the nominee wholeheartedly.

    Pamela,

I am glad to see you are back at it. I hope your knee feels better soon.

    Andy,

I come here, to the Democratic Daily, precisely because it is one of the few places I can escape the Obama-Hate-Machine (think Right-Wing-Echo-Chamber) that has infected just about every nook and cranny of the internet.. Here’s an example: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/12/hillarys-health-plan-hot-peppers/

When a simple wellness column about hot peppers can incite comments like those…

But here, at the DailyDem, we are fortunate to have civil, respectful discourse, all the time — thanks and kudos to Pamela.
