Duh… Tell me something I don’t know already: Economy skids to near halt. Fear not though dear readers, the Idiot in Chief says the U.S. is “not headed into a recession.”

Mostly GWB sucks, but it’s also true that any President would be saying the same thing right now. Not because there is not a recession, but because trying to raise consumer optimism is a mandatory part of the job. Of course it works better with a President who is not almost universally distrusted.
