Who claimed it was a co - presidency?

Despite the negative campaigning, despite the disgraceful attacks on the party, if Hillary manages to pull off the now impossible and wins the nomination I would still support her over McSame. Would you if it was Obama? And remember according to you, you are the one that counts.

UKfor dems,

Hillary was always untrusting of NAFTA, but there you go again blaming her for what Bill Clinton does. And the Iran National Gaurd vote, Obama voted present!!! How convinient. Why didn't he take an anti-war stand and vote no? Because he is a player who is fooling people.

That 2005 energy bill Obama voted for helps big oil and nuclear power, but puts the breaks on going green!!!! No wonder the corporate media loves this guy!!!!

John Karry and the rest of these sexist males voted for that fucking war too. Now everybody wants to crusify Clinton for it. Another typical male double standard being applied to the only woman. And Obama was still in grade school when it all happened!!!

Kendall Johnson,

The Hillary position on Iraq, Nafta and even Florida have changed, not because of some sudden Damascus like realisation, rather, her views changed because she faced a strong challenger in the Primaries. This was supposed to be her annointed prize, and while playing to the Republicans, she acted more Republican than McCain. If Iraq was a mistake, how does that explain her more recent vote on Iran? Where was her opposition to NAFTA when Bill signed it .

<blockquote>
The right to vote belongs to the people, not the DNC or the candidates.</blockquote>

I agree - so attack the elected representatives of Florida and Michigan who moved their primaries forward. Do not demand changing of the rules mid campaign.

Concentrate on the issues. Do not tear down the chances of a Democrat being elected for purely the sake of one candidate.

National events always have an effect on International events. If that were not the case, you would still be paying taxes to the UK. (At least you would have had a better government).

Gibert..God bless your big brain and loyal heart! I've tried to understand why peoplw would even think of voting for Obama..I really have! I don't understand how anyone would not be afraid of his affilliations..Rezko...the arab thief, will bury him if Wright doesnt do it first. The McCain will win and more young men will die for nothing. How in H did Obama get so arrogant? He is in shcok that "She keeps on ticking"??? Why would she not? she has worked PROUDLY for The great USA for 35 years. He was a JR senator for ONE yr when he set out to be president! I guess the world owes him anything he wants. And he thinks SHE"S in HIS way. He's petrified that his evil connections to rezko and wright will come out more...there IS a trail going on. He wants it all sewed up. Well tough twinkies OBAMA..He has NEVER paid his dues...still wants to skip that step even now...as for STAMINA and her being older..that was HIS frail butt lying on a cot on the beach last week (complete with straw hat) while SHE pounded the pavements and roads to reach every American she could reach. I'm sticking with my girl...she's ALWAYS been proud to be American...she can and she will win. Maybe she does not have Old aunti Oprah dishing out millions to her newest facination...but she has many, many proud HARD WORKING AMERICANS behind her who will help her $10.00 at a time. The Repulicans would bury Obama...and we will have years more of good young men comming home in body bags...Please dont let this be a matter of race or age or getting on Oprah's moneywagon...Lets support the Lady who has been working for us for 35 years..most of them for free. Find another of the "100 best lawyers in the USA" to do that for ya...she loves this country and its people with her whole heart. Thanks for listening.

Once again you UKfordems,

The right to vote belongs to the people, not the DNC or the candidates. So disapear and worry about your own country. You have no say here. If you think our country influances yours, to bad!!!! You are not a US citizen as much as you would like to be. So for the last time, you don't count!!!!!!!!!

By the way, did you know that Obama takes campaign money from Exxon Moble and Shell.? There's a recent article about it in Newsweek. Also he is sending out flyers telling people that they can trust him on energy policy because he does not take oil money, a blatent lie!!!!! No wonder he go together with his cousin Dick Chaney and signed off on that big energy bill of 2005 that allows nuclear power plants to get away with not reporting plant leaks and breaches. Obama is a fake and he has no intentions of leaving Iraq. The oil and nuclear power industry own him.

Maybe this effects your economy and global warming. Think about it!!!!!! Clinton voted for the war because Bush lied to congess and told them that we were in real danger. Obama, he's just on the take!!!!!!

Great post.

I've never voted for a Democrat for president before, but I've been a Hiillary supporter since -- well, since even before she declared. It's long been clear to me that she is the person we need at the helm as we meet the great challenges we face, both foreign and domestic.

I predict that, in years to come, the country will look back at what might have happened had Obama become president, and shudder. I believe his flaws are only now beginning to come to light.

<p>Howard Dean - letter to all Candidates</p>

<blockquote>As leader of the Democratic Party, I strongly urge you to adhere to the 2008 delegate selection rules. The 2008 Delegate Selection Rules. ... The 2008 Delegate Selection Rules adopted by the full DNC at its August 2006 meeting clearly provide that only four states - Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire," "South Carolina - may hold their respective contests prior to February 5, '08. The Rules and Bylaws Committee's finding of noncompliance included a 100 percent loss of pledged and unpledged delegates</p></blockquote>

<p>Clinton campaign response</p>

<blockquote>Sep 1, 2007 4:02 PM<br />
Clinton Campaign Statement</p>
<p>The following is a statement by Clinton Campaign Manager Patti Solis Doyle.</p>
<p>"We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process.</p>
<p>And we believe the DNC’s rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role.</p>
<p>Thus, we will be signing the pledge to adhere to the DNC approved nominating calendar."

David,

I'm guessing you are a white male, and don't take offense to this assumption. What you need to understand is that women are seriously oppressed in this society and through out the world!!! It doesn't get the same play as racism, but in many ways is more restricting and just, if not more oppressive.

As a woman, I know that we have never gotten anywhere by playing along and letting the so called progressive men worry about our civil rights. That's largely why we have so few. Women are 54% of the population, while blacks are 13% and all I hear on TV is how the blacks would feel if Hillary won!!!!! All other things being equal, I want Hillary. But more importantly, all things aren't equal. Obama has no agenda for women other than saying that he is pro chioce!!!! Hillary has a pay equity package, she is for legislating Roe v. Wade in an effort to protect it from the supreme court, she has a deep understanding of the feminazation of poverty and her policies reflect as much, she would include gender based crimes as hate crimes, she supports an egual rights amendment, etc.... I could go on. But the point is that she will address women's issues. Obama will maintain the status quo without moving our agenda forward. We are the oppressed majority!!!! When do we get a voice?

I am very emotionally invested because this is a historic opportunity for women to finally make gains toward equality, instead of our issues always being put on the back burner by male polititions. And when we finally got the right to vote, it was only because we were willing to drop the gauntlet and refused to support the male agenda, as I am now. Women in those states that could vote, used their franchise to make this point. It was only then that we got a consitutional amendment. I am looking at the big picture. I am looking at the big picture through a woman's eyes who wants equality for herself, her sisters of all colors, her daughter, her mother and so on. I will not give that dream up and Hillary is the only one offering it!!!! It makes a difference to me that she is a woman, just as it makes a difference to blacks that Obama is black. You may not have any understanding of this, particularly if you are a white male, but it is extremely powerful. You are used to looking at people that look like you running the world. We are not.

In terms of the other issues like Iraq, the economy, immigration, global warming and job creation, I honestly believe that Clinton has a better program. It also bothers me that Obama keeps stealing Clinton's ideas. For me his whole line about having a white mother was to convince white men to support him, by painting himself as one of the good old boys, wink, wink.

Another issue is that as women watch the misogynistic media abuse of Clinton, we are shocked and angered about how much hate males in power still have for us and our gender. Yes this is very real!!!!! You have to be blind not to see it. We will fight this to the end. The big picture you speak of is the same one that keeps us at the bottom of the totum pole. So don't tell me to think about your big picture, because your big picture does not include me or what is best for women.

This is not just about Identity politics, it's about identity policy. Clinton doesn't appeal to me just because she is a women, but because she shares my belief in gender equality and is willing to make the policy to allow for that to happen. I would never vote for Kay Bailey Hutchenson, or Elizabeth Dole because they are not willing to move towards gender equality.

The stakes always have to be high in order for the oppressed to make head way. I'm not afraid of that and obviously neither is Clinton. So I'm sticking with her and will not be supporting Obama no matter what.. If you all have to suffer with the rest of us who are oppressed than so be it. When men start addressing sexism and are willing to make the appropriate changes, then we will see the same big picture.

Your discussion about Clinton's campaign tactics again shows a sexist view. So many people hold her to a higher standard because she is a woman. Many don't even realize it. I imagine you are thinking about the Wright contrivercy when you discuss her tactics. Meantime, Obama's campaign has been using very sexist tactics and no one says anything. Part of the problem is that sexism is still accepted, particularly by men. Many of these tactics include digging up Bill's infedelity, as if it was Hillary's fault. She should have left, etc... I am a 45 years old woman and I too have had marital issues in my relationship of 25 years. I know that sex is only one part of a life long partnership. You work to fix it instead of walking away, especially when there are children and careers involved. That is the right thing to do. I don't blame Hillary for Bill's wrong doings.

Another example of Obama's sexism is how on the one hand he refuses to aknowledge her experience in the white house, but then wants to blame her for the choices her husband made during his administration. He can't have it both ways and its this kind of double play that women face all the time and he knows it. It is also insulting to watch him arrogantly bask in the light of male privilage at these debates and on television when the media is so clearly thrusting forth a gender bias assault against Clinton. So no I can't support him!!!!!!

One last thing about civil rights. Women were not allowed to access birth control of any kind until 1966. Married women needed the consent of their husbands. The case that changed this was Griswald v. Conn.. We hear all the time about the voting rights act of 1964 that ended the Jim Crow laws of the south. Most young women don't even know that their mothers could not even buy condums in the mid 1960's. The schools aren't teaching our sexist history, the way they are about raicism. We didn't even have the right to control our bodies. We, like blacks have been oppressed and cheated out of the american dream.

Today we are raped, murdered, beaten in our homes, denied equal pay, are the poorest in our society, get the least healthcare, do not have equal protection under the law as the 14th amendment gives men of color, and we still have to fight everyday to keep the only right that we have gained in more than 30 years, that being the right to choose.

David, you said that you are supporting Obama because you have watched the race play out and you feel that if the super dalegates would go to Clinton the young people would become disengaged.

Well let me say this, Obama is not very far ahead of Clinton and things could turn around. He just lost a superdelegate who was endicted for some crazy scandal. But, have you considered the unfairness of dienfranchising Fl. who clearly want for Clinton, even though Obama broke the agreement not to campaign there by flooded the air waives with ads.

Did you consider the unfair bias of the media who has been trying to push Clinton out from the beginning by lying about her chances and deliberately trying to drive up the polls against her as they are now by telling people that she has already lost.?

Did you consider that Obama is deliberately fighting any chance of a revote of Fl. or Michigan?

Does it make you wonder about him if he is actively working to disenfranchise voters? Doesn't that say something about his charecter?

Doesn't it bother your democratic senseabilies that your candidate wants to disenfranchise two large states with a combined population of over 26 million people? How is this any different than 2000? This is criminal and it is your guy who wants it this way so it will look like he has won the popular vote, even it he hasn't.

Did you know that these candidates are only 1% apart in the current popular vote, and thats without counting Fl and MI.?

The media has been lying as they did about the Iraq war. Have you fallen for it?

So David, I hope this post enlightens you, so you have a better understanding of this woman's "big picture".

David,

I’m guessing you are a white male, and don’t take offense to this assumption. What you need to understand is that women are seriously oppressed in this society and through out the world!!! It doesn’t get the same play as racism, but in many ways is more restricting and just, if not more oppressive.

As a woman, I know that we have never gotten anywhere by playing along and letting the so called progressive men worry about our civil rights. That’s largely why we have so few. Women are 54% of the population, while blacks are 13% and all I hear on TV is how the blacks would feel if Hillary won!!!!! All other things being equal, I want Hillary. But more importantly, all things aren’t equal. Obama has no agenda for women other than saying that he is pro chioce!!!! Hillary has a pay equity package, she is for legislating Roe v. Wade in an effort to protect it from the supreme court, she has a deep understanding of the feminazation of poverty and her policies reflect as much, she would include gender based crimes as hate crimes, she supports an egual rights amendment, etc…. I could go on. But the point is that she will address women’s issues.

I am looking at the big picture through a woman’s eyes who wants equality for herself, her sisters of all colors, her daughter, her mother and so on.

It also bothers me that Obama keeps stealing Clinton’s ideas.

So don’t tell me to think about your big picture, because your big picture does not include me or what is best for women.

This is not just about Identity politics, it’s about identity policy. Clinton doesn’t appeal to me just because she is a women, but because she shares my belief in gender equality and is willing to make the policy to allow for that to happen. I would never vote for Kay Bailey Hutchenson, or Elizabeth Dole because they are not willing to move towards gender equality.

The stakes always have to be high in order for the oppressed to make head way. I’m not afraid of that and obviously neither is Clinton. So I’m sticking with her and will not be supporting Obama no matter what.. If you all have to suffer with the rest of us who are oppressed than so be it. When men start addressing sexism and are willing to make the appropriate changes, then we will see the same big picture.

Your discussion about Clinton’s campaign tactics again shows a sexist view. So many people hold her to a higher standard because she is a woman. Many don’t even realize it. I imagine you are thinking about the Wright contrivercy when you discuss her tactics. Meantime, Obama’s campaign has been using very sexist tactics and no one says anything. Part of the problem is that sexism is still accepted, particularly by men. Many of these tactics include digging up Bill’s infedelity, as if it was Hillary’s fault. She should have left, etc… I am a 45 years old woman and I too have had marital issues in my relationship of 25 years. I know that sex is only one part of a life long partnership. You work to fix it instead of walking away, especially when there are children and careers involved. That is the right thing to do. I don’t blame Hillary for Bill’s wrong doings.

Another example of Obama’s sexism is how on the one hand he refuses to aknowledge her experience in the white house, but then wants to blame her for the choices her husband made during his administration. He can’t have it both ways and its this kind of double play that women face all the time and he knows it. It is also insulting to watch him arrogantly bask in the light of male privilage at these debates and on television when the media is so clearly thrusting forth a gender bias assault against Clinton. So no I can’t support him!!!!!!

One last thing about civil rights. Women were not allowed to access birth control of any kind until 1966. Married women needed the consent of their husbands.
