The countdown is on till Bush leaves office. According to Bush Countdown Out Of Office Calendar it’s another 297 days from Saturday.
I can’t wait, because in the news tonight, another corrupt Bush Aide has bitten the dust:
An aide to President Bush has resigned because of his alleged misuse of grant money from the U.S. Agency for International Development when he worked for a Cuban democracy organization.
Felipe Sixto was promoted on March 1 as a special assistant to the president for intergovernmental affairs and stepped forward on March 20 to reveal his alleged wrongdoing and to resign, White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said Friday. He said Sixto took that step after learning that his former employer, the Center for a Free Cuba, was prepared to bring legal action against him.
Stanzel said the alleged wrongdoing involved the misuse of money when Sixto was an official at the center.
The matter has been turned over to the Justice Department for investigation, Stanzel said. He said Bush was briefed on the case and felt that the appropriate action was being taken.
Personally I can’t fathom another 4 years once Bush is gone with a Republican in the White House, which is why I will support the Democratic nominee — whether it is Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. America needs real leadership and I believe both our Democratic candidates tower over John McCain on the issues that matter most to Democrats.
Democrats who are crying foul and threatening to vote for McCain need to think long and hard about who they are aligning with if they do. All these claims are only bolstering the opposition and that opposition is John McCain. Remember that… John McCain is not the antedote to not getting the nominee of your choice — he’s the opposition — he’s a died in the wool conservative — a Republican, pledged to keep us in Iraq for another 100 years. A vote for John McCain is vote for more years of Bush-like leadership.
