NBC Projects Win for Clinton in PA

NBC is projecting that Hillary Clinton has won the Pennsylvania primary:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday won Pennsylvania’s presidential primary, a victory that analysts said she had to have if she were to remain a credible candidate for the Democratic nomination.

Clinton, independent analysts and the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois had predicted ahead of time that Clinton would win the state, where she enjoyed large leads in opinion polls until recently. But after closing the deficit in the last few weeks, Obama’s advisers said he would have the momentum unless Clinton won by a sizable margin.

Clinton told a raucously cheering crowd in Philadelphia that she had done the job.

She’s a fighter:

We were up against a formidable opponent who outspent us 3-to-1. He broke every spending record in this state trying to knock us out of the race. Well, the people of Pennsylvania had other ideas today,” Clinton said as the crowd mocked Obama’s campaign slogan by chanting, “Yes, she can!”

Yes She Can” indeed. But, the question to ask now is “how come Barack Obama just can’t seem to close the deal?”

Jeralyn reports on TalkLeft:

Hillary Clinton raised $500k on her website in the first hour after the polls closed. If you want to help her, head on over to HillaryClinton.com

Here’s a serious question. Is Obama starting to prove that he has some real “teflon”, or is his vote showing really only Republic shenanigans?

My understanding is that he made at least some inroads, even though he had an extremely tough period in the media.

    Darrell

I think the Obama mystique is wearing off in some regards. And I also think people have under estimated her support in key states that we need to win in November. Like PA.

You know, if MI & FL counted she would be ahead. There IS a reason why Obama fights that and it’s sad because we need those states in November.

Doing well…I’ve been ‘retiring’ from teaching, but otherwise doing okay. I hope you and Juliet are doing well, too. :)
