Well written and articulate post! A very well thought out argument as to why BO joined the church to begin with and stayed for 20 years. I believe you are right on in this analysis.

I do not feel sorry for Wright, though. He and Senator Obama have both had their agendas. They both have made choices. Did Barack use Wright without any sincere esteem for the man? Hard to imagine allowing someone you didn't respect to baptise your children. Did Barack in his self-centered focus towards the Presidency underestimate his Pastor? Looks like that answer is a definate yes.

It is painful to watch them both denigrate the other, when clearly it seems as if both were "hopeful" for something higher. I'm sure Wright was very proud to have Barack (since Wright was like an uncle then B must be like a nephew) running for President. And I'm imagining B was content to let his "Uncle" come along for the ride, until "words" got in the way.

So, painful to watch but understandable too. Wright does not have it in him to quietly go away.

It wll be very interesting to see what the folks in NC and IND do with their votes a week from now.

Well said.

I am amused that Obama, whose candidacy is touted to be one that can unite Democrats and Republicans, has already split the Democrats, and has now managed to cause a split in the African American community, from what my AA friends have told me (those supporting Hillary). In their families, some back Rev. Wright and will no longer support Obama, while other family members are angry at Wright and staying with Obama. What a dilemma!

Excellent post. I suspect there are at least a few more people with Obama's footprint on their backs.
