You Can’t Complain About Sexism If You Participate In It

One thing that has bothered me throughout this election has been anti-Hillary people referring to Hillary Clinton as “Mrs. Bill”. It was clearly meant to demean her accomplishments and very reminiscent of the Matthews-esque nonsense that Hillary only got where she did because of Monica. (That particularly bothers me because I think Hillary will be much better than Bill was and has done a lot on her own.) When I see commenters on pro-Hillary blogs refer to Andrea Mitchell...

Wright Throws Obama Under The Bus and Steps On The Gas

Jeremiah Wright has thrown Barack Obama under the bus and he has stepped on the gas. The consensus is in — whatever Wright’s motive, this doesn’t look good for Obama. Here’s some of the opinions around the news and the sphere: Joan Walsh on Salon: I was wrong about Wright I regret that I hedged my observation about Wright’s narcissism. He may be wounded, but this is a man of enormous self-regard, and he’s clearly trying to hurt Barack...

Rev. Jeremiah Wright has been back in the news over the past couple of days making headlines and stirring up more controversy: After addressing the NAACP yesterday in Detroit, Jeremiah Wright travels to the heart of the media beast — the National Press Club in DC — where he has been speaking this morning.  You can watch Wright’s NAACP speech HERE. In his NAACP speech, Wright “jokingly” mocked the “Boston accents of former Presidents John F. and Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.,”...

More Sunday Late Night: Prince… “Coachella, I am here”

I was going to add this to my Sunday Late Night post below, but I think it deserves a post of it’s own. As I noted in the post below it was hot, hot, hot in SoCal this weekend, but the heat was really turned up in the desert when Prince took the stage at the Coachella Music Festival last night…   Prince was there in Coachella to show the “kids how it’s done“: Sphere: Related Content

Sunday Late Night

April 27, 2008 11:57 pm

I’m winding down from a hot weekend here in SoCal, where the mercury reached nearly 100 degrees today and we’ve got another wildfire out of control. Too hot to do much of anything but chill. I’ve rounded up a few links in the news and blogs worth reading and Dizzy Dezzi has her round-up ready to for the morning, so there should be plenty to discuss here in the wee and early hours. On Talk Left, Jeralyn explains “Why...
