Rep. Heath Shuler to Back Clinton

The Raleigh News & Observer reports today that “U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler is pledging his support to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, according to a spokesman.”

Shuler, a superdelegate to the National Democratic Convention, had said he would back the candidate who carried his 11th congressional district in Western North Carolina.

Clinton carried the district by 13 points in Tuesday’s primary. Barack Obama carried the state.

Shuler is the third superdelegate from North Carolina to back Hillary Clinton. The other two Superdelegates are Gov. Mike Easley and Charlotte Mayor Pro Tem Susan Burgess. Another North Carolina Superdelegate, U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge of Lillington, “intends to stay uncommitted, according a spokeswoman said today.”

Apparently not ALL Superdelegates are willing to jump on the Obama bandwagon despite his North Carolina win.

A Bush-dog supporting Sen. Clinton, your candidate. You must be so proud. Sorry, I just couldn’t stay away.
