I can't say I'm surprised about Bush's statement, he's done this for a while now.

Funny, how the pundits were salivating over Bush's "Unity" message only 8 years ago from this guy: "uniter not a divider". I didn't buy it then, I and that nonsense doesn't move me this time now that I'm older and wiser. It's striking how quickly some forget; ironic that its the uneducated, working class are the ones who seem to remember it most.

McCain made a speech today in which he postulated a U.S. victory in Iraq by no later than 2013. (Conveniently after the 2012 election.)

My consistent challenge to the GWB apologists like McCain is to decribe in detail what a "victory" would look like. He attempts this by saying only that it would be characterized by a decreased level of Iraqi on Iraqi violence. This, of course, ignores the reality that even our complete and immediate withdrawl is virtually guaranteed to yield at least what he describes. The Democrats would lead us to Point A far more cheaply, and with no further loss of U.S. blood. The Republics would lead us to Point A (if their road map could even be trusted to take us there) at the costs of a trillion dollars or so extra, and with the deaths of god only knows how many additional U.S. military deaths.

With all due respect, those folks arguing that McCain presents a superior choice to Sen. Obama are pure fools.

What does Obama want to discuss with them ? I liked McCain's response on this. Ask questions !Tell America how you will communicate and handle foreign relations specifically senator Obama. Not every conclusion drawn from what is said and communicated is about political advantage when it comes to national security.Agree with what is said or not, but ask questions to clarify ! Obama is getting called down on his foreign policy experience and communications a lot ! Is Obama sending mixed signals based on his experience ? How will foreign relations and communications be handled ?Might not agree with president Bush and how he responded but think his intent was driven toward national security . Go in his office and ask him to clarify before you jump to conclusions on matters of peace, terrorists and Israel. Maybe political, maybe not and go find out and ask before you jump to conclusions on what was meant and what was not ,by words used and get tied up in political gain on an issue so serious. Is there any team up in Washington in politics when it comes to national security communication clarification ? Sorry,McCain scored for me on this one and all he said was,"Obama what do you want to talk to them about ?" How will you go about talking to them ? Fair question on national security and peace I thought .

"Good ol’ Joe Biden. I always liked his fighting spirit. He was a much better candidate than he was given credit for."

I agree. I donated $10 to his campaign. He was sincerely a great candidate and it's a shame that he wasn't really given much of a shot.

Honestly... anyone who thinks this would not have been directed at HRC if she were the frontrunner at this point should reflect back and the last 4 years or so. This has nothing to do with anything but Bush paving the way for the GOP assault on our candidate.

What a sad couple of days. First, John Edwards, who knows that Senator Obama isn't as ready to be president as Senator Clinton, endorses Obama.

Second this nonsense from GWB. What a disgusting soul. I'm sorry I shouldn't say anyone, even George W, has a disgusting soul. I'm certain his soul, in some heart centered place, is fine while his actions have been disgusting for years. This one takes the cake.

And Joe Biden was a FAR BETTER choice than most knew at the time. He was short changed by the money. [Like Wes Clark in 2004....the one other person who should have been in this race.]

What a sad couple of days. I'm beyond being frustrated.
