Maternal and child health is indeed very important. It cannot be ignored at any cost. There is one way in which individuals like me can contribute for the betterment of society. Actually "world government" is code word especially for evangelicals, in particular, the "left behind" crowd, for all the evils that they can imagine. So, any notion of global governance is anathema to them. On another part of the spectrum, of course, you have those who have been clamoring for the US to leave the UN (the most deranged version of it, being, of course, the black helicopter crowd). And, additionally, the appointment of John Bolton as UN ambassador was a slap in the face of any sense of global political collaboration. (who's the UN ambassador these days?)
