A Thought on the Threats to Vote for John McCain

June 5, 2008 11:40 pm

I had a thought tonight about the threats to support John McCain from angry Clinton supporters. As a Clinton supporter and a feminist I find a certain kind of irony in the fact that Clinton supporters are complaining about the sexism that Hillary weathered during her campaign but they are willing to support a candidate who called his wife the C word. Yes, that’s right, incase all you feminists who are so outraged forgot, John McCain called his wife the C Word....

Some of you may think I’m nuts in sharing this link, but like many of you, I was beyond stunned by the news today. Even though we don’t have the full picture yet, there are new sites and efforts springing up all over the net. One involves a petition drive regarding a joint ticket. I wasn’t sure about how I felt re all this – after all… I’ve been fighting hard for over a year now to get Hillary...

To Senator Clinton

This is what I wrote on Senator Clinton’s website, reproduced here as per Pamela’s request. Dear Senator Clinton, we need you. By now, I know you will suspend your campaign and endorse Senator Obama. This makes me incredibly sad, but I respect your decision and will continue to support you. I was one of many HillBloggers. We blogged for you during this primary. And like you, we were outspent and outnumbered but we got our energy and strength from...

Bystander Apathy

Via Jonathan Turley, “In the video linked below, Angel Torres, 78, is struck by two cars in the streets of Hartford, Connecticut and left in the street. The video shows a dozen cars passed by without stopping and pedestrians doing nothing to help Torres who is now paralyzed from the neck down. No one even bothered to call 9-11 as they walked away.” Surveillance video here (graphic though). But considering what we know about human behavior, it is actually...

Reflections on the 2008 Democratic Primary

Because the former king of pop can do it better than me: From the early MNSBC treatment of Hillary (initiated, btw, by Edwards and Obama), to mocking her nonexistent tears, to the constant calls for her to quit, to the painting of her as racist, to the absurd f#$%ing idea that Hillary was waiting for the assassination of Obama, to the forcing of the winner of more votes out of the contest, this contest has been a monstrosity. There...

From Hillary Clinton: I want you to know

By our now readers all know that Hillary Clinton will officially end her campaign and support Barack Obama. It’s tough for many Clinton supporters to assimilate this news and yet, there’s so much work to be done and Hillary Clinton understands that. The stakes are high dear friends and readers and this election has always been about something bigger than which candidate we all support… It’s about taking back the White House as I have said here many times....
