Speaking of Religious Fundamentalism…

Frenchdoc has a post below on religious fundamentalism in France. Personally, although I respect the right of people to practice whatever religion they choose, I don’t like when religious leaders get all up in our politics as they have in recent years. In a nutshell, I’m a separation of church and state sort of person. I fully understand the need for Democrats to court the “faith community” but… I start getting wary when I hear that we’re getting cozy...

From Le Nouvel Observateur, we get this appalling story. Here is how it goes, a man sues a hospital because his baby is born handicapped due to neurological problems during labor. Pretty straightforward, huh? Not so: the child is now disabled because when problems arose during labor, the father physically prevented male ob-gyns and other personnel from entering the delivery room to examine the mother and proceed with a cesarean section which would have avoided said neurological damage. Price of Gas Affecting More Than Travel

June 10, 2008 2:19 am

With the price of gas averaging about $4 a gallon, and diesel running about $5 a gallon, “We’re seeing fewer shooters,” says Murphy. About 300 families bring campers;...
