K-Lo’s Curiosity Boggles the Mind

July 24, 2008 8:55 pm

Me thinks K-Lo needs to go back to school to answer her own curious question:   If Obama could go to Germany and give a speech in English and be not only understood but well-received, why does he say we all need to learn another language? It’s mind-boggling that K-Lo doesn’t seem to know that in Germany everyone learns English in school. Sphere: Related Content

According to a poll released today, Barack Obama is picking up steam among Latino voters and he is “winning support from the vast majority of those who had voted for rival Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries.” The national survey, conducted by the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center, showed that 66 percent of Hispanic registered voters supported Obama, compared to 23 percent for Republican John McCain. The other 11 percent were undecided. Hillary Clinton carried the Latino vote in...

Ten Post Round-Up: July 24, 2008

At some point while reading this round-up, your heart will break, your funny bone will be tickled and your ire will be raised. 1. When pop culture meets real-life…it ain’t pretty! Salt Lake Tribune: Motorist’s quip about ‘Grey Poupon’ met with cocked, black handgunA Sandy man took offense to a motorist, who, after getting him to roll down his window, asked, “Excuse me, sir, do you have any Grey Poupon?” After hearing the request for Dijon mustard, the 22-year-old...

Random Musings on H.R. 3221

July 24, 2008 3:29 pm

The House just passed a Bill entitled “Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008”. It is said as of this writing that the Barney Frank version just given the okay in the House is the piece of legislation that will be passed imminently by the Senate, and that Pres. Bush has now agreed to sign off on. What is being labeled as an “Act” is really a 694 page collection of provisions that far more resembles a grand smorgasbord...

Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin, Germany today drew a crowd of “200,000, according to the Obama campaign, which cited local officials.” He drew warm applause in declaring that the world should be free of nuclear weapons, the war in Iraq should be over, the world should commit to fight global warming, reject torture and welcome immigrants. “I know my country has not perfected itself,” he said. “We’ve made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around...

Barack Obama Hits A Homerun For America In Berlin

A Personal Confession: Today I apologize to Barack Obama. No one can think I’ve been an Obama supporter. I supported Hillary Clinton vigorously and went though a period of real mourning after the primary ended with her concession. I said, as a lifelong Democrat, that I would certainly support our nominee. I know that having a Democratic in the WH is essential. Yet I’ve called Barack Obama, repeatedly, ‘an empty shirt’. Again, I apologize. His speech in Berlin is...

If you want a ticket to the nomination of Barack Obama in Denver, your commitment to activism will get you a seat: In a half-hour interview Wednesday with The Denver Post, Obama’s deputy campaign manager, Steve Hildebrand, said he wants to use the ticketing process as a massive recruitment tool meant to bring in supporters from all 50 states and energize them to carry the campaign into the final 60 days of the general election. The Democratic National...

Novak’s Victim In Casts

July 24, 2008 9:58 am
By

Apparently columnist Robert Novak’s victim is worse than the news first reported. WJLA reports ”a hospital source told ABC 7 News,” that the victim is in “worse shape than first thought” and the WaPo has confirmed: The Washington Post confirmed the victim’s identity to be 66-year-old Don Lilkinquist. A source who saw Lilkinquist said he had appeared somewhat incoherent. Lilkinquist also appeared to have casts on his neck and back and was later X-rayed. The source said a surgical team planned to evaluate him. Novak claims he didn’t see the victim...
