You assume that Biden will run in 8 years. There is no guarantee that he will -- so you can piss and moan all you like, but for now, Obama made a smart choice of a Senator with a wealth of experience where needed.

And where you get Biden will be 82 in 8 years is beyond me.

the pattern goes, v.p. for 8years, no major f-ups, you then run for prez. biden will be 82 and the repubics will use this to their advantage. obama/biden will be a 2 term tag team, period. if the bankrupcy bill is not straightened out i will continue not to vote for biden. too many people are hurting with no where to go. suicide for the insurance has happened and will continue. corporations can file and no debt counseling for them. no biden stuck it to the little guy, for political reasons only, big time. it is going to come back and bite obama/biden. what would the vetters of biden, namely caroline the wise woman, know about debt and no money

Aren't you jumping ahead just a bit too far -- no one said Biden would run after Obama serves 2 terms and there will no doubt be plenty of great Dems in 8 years that could indeed hold on to the White House for us.

well i am 66 and very disappointed that biden is the choice. for one thing he is too old!! he will be 74 in 8 years and then we will loose the w.h. because of biden’s age. no one would vote for a candidate who will be 82 when he leaves office. the other thing is the bankrupcy bill. biden has pushed this for years and years. why? because it would be good for the people? no because his donors, the credit card companies, are domiciled in his state. i am through with this election. obamalites bashed hillary without hesitation, some of the lowest sexist remarks/actions in my lifetime. sick of all of it. obama will be fighting for his political life and with biden and his age, they have washed the age advantage against mc cain. no wonder we loose elections!!! disgusting!!!

I could not be more delighted that Senator Obama made this VP choice. I am 64 years old and am a native Delawarian. Joe was the perfect choice because he has charisma, good oratory skills, is well versed in foreign affairs, and is a straight talker. Senator Biden has never hid from a fight and thus will prove an excellent GOP attack dog. Above all else he is genuine. His word is his bond. For those who don’t know, his adult son, Beau Biden, was recently elected our state attorney-general. However, he is still active in tbe National Guard and his guard troop will be deploying to Iraq in October. I am sure this will prove to be campaign fodder.As we in Deaware have come to know, Senator Biden has frequently made oratorical gaffs. (open mouth insert foot) However, his positives far outweigh any negatives. Obama’s VP choice of our “average Joe” will likely assure his election to the presidencyGrining with Pride, Buzz
