A quick note on Michelle Obama’s speech… I thought it was awesome. I was incredibly impressed. She’s grown a lot on the campaign trail. Tonight’s from Michelle Obama speech was honest, from the heart and very moving. It was a great follow up to the tribute to Ted Kennedy and Kennedy’s “triumphant appearance” and speech.
If you [...]

Caroline Kennedy introduced the video tribute to her uncle Senator Ted Kennedy earlier tonight at the convention. The tribute was a prelude to Senator Kennedy taking the stage and speaking at the convention. Watch the DNC tribute to Kennedy here:

I know I may not be able to do Ted Kennedy’s speech at the podium justice, but here goes live-blogging (video at the end of the post):

Earlier today I posted on Hillary Clinton’s response to the RNC ad using her words against Barack Obama, as reported by Ben Smith on Politico today. Here’s the video clip:

I could not resist commenting on this photo from the NY Times Blog The Caucus. The Caucus reports: “Rednecks love Barack Obama. Or at least two of them do.”
“We hunt, fish, drink beer and support Barrack Obama,” said Tony Viessman, a 74-year old former Hillary Clinton supporter from Rolla, Mo. He and his buddy Les [...]

Late last night I reported that it had been confirmed that Senator Ted Kennedy would be speaking at the convention tonight. CNN is reporting:
Sen. Edward Kennedy is expected to make a dramatic appearance Monday night at the Democratic National Convention, his office said, marking his second public appearance since brain surgery in June.
It is unclear [...]

AP News reports that Clinton and Obama have worked out a deal to give Clinton ”votes in the Democratic roll call for president.” This is reported to be “a step toward an uneasy alliance of former rivals and their still-bitter supporters.”
Some Clinton backers are still not happy with any sort of “deal,” regardless of Clinton’s wholehearted support [...]

An independent agency of the RNC is running an ad using Hillary Clinton’s words from the primaries against Obama. Politico reports that Clinton has responded to the ad:
“I’m Hillary Clinton, and I do not approve that message,” Clinton tells the New York delegation of McCain’s ad that features her old criticism of Obama.
Clinton says Democrats are [...]

Forget any thing you ever hear from Mark Halprin. These overwhelmingly stupid remarks stunned even his fellow panelists. His premise? That the McCain house flap will rebound on Barack Obama and create serious damage. Please watch. [H/t to TPM for the original catch and Dkos for posting it on the front page.]
That was very nearly [...]
