A quick note on Michelle Obama’s speech… I thought it was awesome. I was incredibly impressed. She’s grown a lot on the campaign trail. Tonight’s from Michelle Obama speech was honest, from the heart and very moving. It was a great follow up to the tribute to Ted Kennedy and Kennedy’s “triumphant appearance” and speech. Caroline Kennedy introduced the video tribute to her uncle Senator Ted Kennedy earlier tonight at the convention. The tribute was a prelude to Senator Kennedy taking the stage and speaking at the convention. I could not resist commenting on this photo from the NY Times Blog The Caucus. The Caucus reports: “Rednecks love Barack Obama. Late last night I reported that it had been confirmed that Senator Ted Kennedy would be speaking at the convention tonight. CNN is reporting: Sen. Edward Kennedy is expected to make a dramatic appearance Monday night at the Democratic National Convention, his office said, marking his second public appearance since brain surgery in June. AP News reports that Clinton and Obama have worked out a deal to give Clinton ”votes in the Democratic roll call for president.” This is reported to be “a step toward an uneasy alliance of former rivals and their still-bitter supporters.” Some Clinton backers are still not happy with any sort of “deal,” regardless of Clinton’s wholehearted support for Obama.
