Deal Worked Out for Roll Call Vote
By: Pamela LeaveyAP News reports that Clinton and Obama have worked out a deal to give Clinton ”votes in the Democratic roll call for president.” This is reported to be “a step toward an uneasy alliance of former rivals and their still-bitter supporters.”
Some Clinton backers are still not happy with any sort of “deal,” regardless of Clinton’s wholehearted support for Obama. Still the plan is “for a state-by-state vote for the presidential nomination Wednesday night, with delegates casting their ballots for Clinton or Obama,” and then officials say the “the voting would be cut off after several states,” ending possibly at Clinton’s home state of New York “when Clinton herself would call for unanimous nomination of Obama by acclamation from the convention floor.”
The entire deal that AP News is reporting is said to be offered to AP by “officials” who ”spoke on condition of anonymity while the deal was being finalized.”
