Pamela and Stuart,I didn't know Palin was an evangelical Christian. Certainly I wasn't suggesting that she and McCain should be elected. I understand from what I have read that she doesn't think global warming is being caused by people. I think it is one of the most important things we must address immediately and I am glad the Democrats are taking it seriously and want to act. This aspect of the canpaigns should be helpful to the Democrats in getting the Catholic vote. The pope spoke to hundreds of thousands of young people last year telling them to save the planet "before it is too late". Stuart, I don't know if you really thought I was spinning the information or you're just angry that the Republicans would put a woman in the vice-president slot as a substitute for Hillary when she would lead us in the opposite direction from Hillary in many important ways. I don't think I was spinning; I just want to be as clear and fair as possible and I do understand your exasperation..

Theresa: Anyone that suggests that creationism be taught in school is, by definition, a creationist. And as if that's not enough she a dedicated and very outspoken anti-choice advocate.

Isn't that enough for you? Do you want to repeal Roe3 v. Wade? That's John McCain's goal and hers. Goddamn, that should be a deal breaker. That article was fully sourced. You are the one 'spinning' it. It's unconscionable for a Hillary Clinton supporter to even consider this woman qualified to be one heartbeat, one heart attack, one more bout with cancer away from the Presidency.
Thanks for putting us in touch with information about Gov. Palin. Even with the relatively little information we have about her, it's obvious she is not a substitute for Hillary Clinton, who has a wealth of impoortant experience to her credit. But we need to be very careful that we do not let our personal viewpoint distort any facts like the Obama campaign and news media did with Hillary for so long. There is no evidence given that Palin is a Creationist, only that she suggested that people with that viewpoint be allowed to speak their views in school. The Anchorage Daily News which you site says that a trooper investigation concluded that Wooten, Palin's sister's husband," had told Palin's sister he would shoot their father if he got the sister a lawyer." It seems that one staffer went too far in pressing for this state trooper who had threatened murder to be fired, but the news article does not show that Palin fired anyone for other than justifiable reasons.
It is very important that we keep our facts straight and that we are always as fair and accurate as we can be.
