Mid Day: Debating The Economic Mess

Ouch. Chris Matthews eviscerated McCain surrogate Eric Cantor yesterday on Hardball (h/t Susie at Suburban Guerrilla). If you haven’t seen it, it’s a stunning performance – watch it here.

There is no doubt in my mind who is better for the ecomony and the grand mess we are in. I have said here more than a few times in recent days, it isn’t John McCain.

This morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Joe Biden said, that “paying higher taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans.” Biden is right. I have no love for corporate America and those in the wealthy sector that get rich on the backs of the little people.

Biden says he and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama want to “take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people.”

Under the Democrats’ economic plan, people earning more than $250,000 a year would pay more in taxes while those earning less — the vast majority of American taxpayers — would receive a tax cut.

Biden told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that, in his words, “it’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

Joe Biden also “called Republican John McCain’s answers to the current economic crisis ‘the ultimate bridge to nowhere.'”

The “Wall St crisis will call” the shots for whoever the next president is. “83 Wall Street Lobbyists Work” for John McCain’s campaign. Is this a candidate we can trust to pull America out of this economic nightmare. Absolutely not.
