It was, as said by Pat Buchanan, ‘emotional, moving and authentic.’ Obama said, “She’s gone home. My sister was by her side.” He spoke movingly of the fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers who have had a daily...

Jeffrey Hart was a speech writer for Ronald Reagan both as governor of California and as President. He was a speechwriter for Richard Nixon. He’s written academic books and articles on the underpinnings of the true conservative movement. He was a senior editor of The National Review for nearly 40 years. He is a true conservative. Ten Post Round-Up: Big News In Digestible Bits (Monday, November 3rd)

It’s election eve and a lot of people are kind of feeling like it’s the night before Christmas. Sadly, tomorrow may be the day when a lot of people will discover whether or not there really is a Santa Claus. Many of us will sit under our television sets, waiting to see what results pop down the chimney. Many of us will likely go to bed, not knowing what Santa left. Many of us will wake up with coal...

SNL – Funnier Than Waterboarding. Or Maybe Not.

Wow. Last night’s Saturday Night Live was … well, not so funny. SNL – Smooching Butt To Power Or, actually it WAS funny, but not funny “ha ha.” The opening sketch, Tina Fey as Sarah Palin with the actual John McCain going on QVC because McCain didn’t have enough money for any other network buy was kind of funny. But what was “funnier” was that SNL would give McCain a big freebie less than 72 hours before the election....

The latest chant at Palin rallies is this: “Vote McCain, not Hussein!” or “John McCain! Not Hussein!” As NYT’s The Caucus is reporting, the former made an appearance at a rally earlier this week in Pennsylvania, the latter at one this morning in Florida: After the rally in Florida ended, two of the people leading the chant explained why they did so. “Because it rhymes,” said Shirley Mitten, 64, a volunteer at a pregnancy center and a resident of...
