President Elect Barack Obama broke bread last night with a group pf conservative pundits at George Will’s home. Among the pundits reported to have partaked in the bread breaking were the “Weekly Standard’s William Kristol, New York Times columnist David Brooks, and Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post.”
Sam Stein of the HuffPo reminds us that Obama “has pledged to be a uniter once in office.”
He’s also said he is willing to take policy suggestions from any source, regardless of ideological affiliation, as long as they work. So far, he’s living up to his word.
Attending the dinner at Will’s home was a very smart move on Obama’s part and no doubt the sign of the things to come. Obama knows if you want to get things done in Washington you need to reach across the aisle.
