Obama Goes Where Bush Could Not
By: Pamela LeaveyTonight in an interview with Brian Williams on NBC’s Nightly News, President Barack Obama went where George W. Bush could not, when he announced with complete candor, “I screwed up.”
“I’ve got to own up to my mistake. Ultimately, it’s important for this administration to send a message that there aren’t two sets of rules — you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes,” Obama said…
Obama was discussing Tom Daschle’s withdrawal from nomination as the Secretary of the HHS. He went on to say, “I’m frustrated with myself, with our team. … I’m here on television saying I screwed up.”
Obama then ”repeated virtually the same words in interviews with other TV anchors.”
Refreshing isn’t it? A president who actually owns his mistakes.
