Well, this is just one more step in treating cigarette smokers as second class citizens! I really was hoping that President Obama would be the one to play fair with everyone. It appears I was wrong. I just don't see what is fair about saddling a "specific" group of citizens with the additional cost of providing health care for uninsured children. An additonal 4m no less. This is an additional cost for a "specific " group that is unfair taxation. Seems to me, this cost should be shared by "everyone". If the SCHIP is to be funded by taxation, it should be a tax on something that "everyone" buys,,,,,like toilet paper! I guess President Obama feels hurting a select group of citizens is better than putting a burden on all citizens! If will agree to this type of unfair taxation,,,what else can we expect in the future.

I know everyone will not agree with this line of thinking(like non-smokers), but I am sure there is a large majority of citizens that do agree!

It is not the first step. It is just another bump on the downhill slide we're on. Before you ladel out any more praise on Obama show this bill for what it really is - it's just a directive forcing STATES to find ways to pay for insuring kids. That's it. The hard work, tough decisions and the sacrifice are going to be done by states and taxpayers who are already overburdened by feeding, educating, and sheltering people who can't afford kids but continue to have them anyway.
