Agreed Brian the Dems were hard on Bush & maybe should of been a lot harder. The guy was able to get through 6 years not vetoing 1 spending Bill. If the Dems. were as obstructionist ya know ass McConnell, DeMint & Boner want to be they should of stuck w/Hagel as their voice of reason on how fucked up that neo-con party really is. Pulling out all the stops week 3 of a new Presidency in a recession for political position seems very extreme to me. How do you possibly negotiate anything w/that as we watch my cities (Cleveland) & state (Ohio) fall by the waste side hoping these idiots can work together on something.

"They don’t want to play ball with him"

Yeah, because you guys on the left were so interested in bipartisanship during the Bush years.

For nearly a decade we've been told that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. For nearly a decade the Democrats have done everything possible to sabotage Republicans in power. And now that a Democrat wants to ram his own plans through, after Congressional Democrats have frozen out GOP members, we should all come together and agree. I don't think so.

The same thing the left put Bush through for the past 8 years the right will look to put Obama through. Surprise. It wasn't a one-way street that we'd forget what Dems did when Republicans were in power.

Good post! My friend sent me his interpreptation of what they doing the other day as a comment to a blog of mine. He said, "The repubs are like a parasite right now, determined to takeover its host, but not until they've weakened the host to near death will they be able to do it." Think he's on to something here. I shake my head in awe daily when I see how they act. Teddy Roosevelt said a lot of great, progressive things as President that define these Republicans & Corporate America today. Went back through some old college papers when I used to write on him & love this quote:
"Too much cannot be said against the men of wealth who sacrifice
everything to getting wealth. There is not in the world a more ignoble
character than the mere money-getting American, insensible to every duty, regardless of every principle, bent only on amassing a fortune, and putting his fortune only to the basest uses...
Such a man is only the more dangerous if he occasionally does some deed like founding a college or endowing a church, which makes those good people who are also foolish forget his real iniquity. These men are equally careless of the working men, whom they oppress, and of the State, whose existence they imperil. There are not very many of them, but there is a very great number of men who approach more or less closely to the type, and, just in so far as they do so approach, they are curses to the country." - Teddy
0Roosevelt (One big ball of Progressive/Republican Communism for some of Rush Limbaugh's fans to scream about I guess)
