Many will say that the Republicans are all members of the extreme Right. I don’t agree. I think there are thinking members of that party that are being silenced out of sheer fear of reprisal.
At any rate, this will give you some real talking point and, more importantly, data sources to use when talking to others. Rather than attempt to excerpt a fine article use this link to get to the original document. It is filled with links to original data that make disagreement, if you get past the hysteria, difficult or at least civil. It is a very worthwhile article.
