Interview of John Podesta At First Meeting of The Middle Class Task Force

John Podesta, head of the transition team for Obama, and President of the Center for American Progress was interviewed several days ago by Norah O’Donnel. The exact topic was again what constitutes ‘Green Jobs’. Is their first mission going to be the commonsense retrofitting homes and buildings throughout the USA? How?

Some readers will remember a month or more ago the CEO of Google made a similar suggestion. Why not start on the most simple job of retrofitting American homes to lower individual energy costs and give jobs to many workers? It is a practical application that we already have in useful form. It needs no research just implementation.

I supported that suggestion wholeheartedly. It is raised again in terms of practical application in this interview.
