The latest Gallup Poll finds that most Americans are confident in President Obama ”to do or recommend the right thing for the economy,” and they have a “much higher level of confidence” in Obama than they do in ”Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, or the Democratic or Republican leaders in Congress”:

And, a new AP Poll finds that “most people say they plan to use this year’s tax refund to pay bills, deciding in this sour economy to be more frugal with their annual windfall.”

Americans are simply remaining cautious on spending at this point, although there maybe some “glimmers of hope” that things are improving.

The results of the new Gallup Poll do seem to squash the Obama “is a “polarizing” president” meme.
