Senator John Kerry: Only 72 Hours Until MA Special Election!

As readers here have no doubt noticed I have been MIA here for some time now. I do spend what free time I can posting links to my Twitter Feed, however, I just don’t have much time to write here. I wanted to chime in today though and share this email just received from Senator John Kerry on the special election here in Massachusetts on Tuesday January 19.

The polls are perilously close here and Massachusetts voters simply can not afford to let Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat go down in flames to Scott Brown.

So I am here today to appeal to readers to please do what you can to help Martha Coakley in this critical special election. You can sign up to volunteer here, donate directly to her campaign here or donate via the DSCC link provided in the copy of the email below from Senator John Kerry:

Dear Pamela,

This is it – the final 72 hours are what make or break elections. J.B. Poersch at the DSCC believes this election is going to be decided by just a handful of votes. That’s why we must get every last Democrat out to vote for Martha Coakley, and we need your help. It’s not too late to make the winning difference in this race.

The far right wing – the out-of-state tea bagger crowd – has invaded Massachusetts. Republican Scott Brown is trying to deny his relationship with them – but that’s a little hard to do when he’s speaking at their events, and they’re touting his promise to be the 41st senator needed to kill health care reform. And they are raising money to help Brown – more than $1 million in one day.

But I believe in Martha – and in your willingness to assist her in these final crucial hours. Martha Coakley is a fighter for Massachusetts as attorney general and will be a fighter in the Senate – but only if we keep pushing right up until the polls close on Tuesday. Your immediate online gift to the DSCC will make a difference on the ground.

Electing Martha means even more than giving Massachusetts a capable leader to carry on the fights that meant everything to Sen. Kennedy. It means standing up to the big insurance companies and the big banks and passing health care reform, financial reform and the rest of President Obama’s agenda. We’ve got 72 hours. Let’s make this happen.

Sincerely,

Sen. John Kerry

Again… I’ll just repeat myself: please do what you can to help Martha Coakley in this critical special election. You can sign up to volunteer here¬†or donate directly to her campaign here.

Thank you… Let’s win this one for Ted Kennedy and make sure we can pass the ever so critical Heath Care Reform that Kennedy spent a lifetime fighting for.

  1. John Stone says:

Ted Kennedy was a GREAT Senator and no one can replace him, but Martha Coakley would be the perfect choice for his seat. hope that people in the great state of Massachusetts listen to John Kerry and vote for Martha Coakley! Do it for Ted Kennedy and America! Let the good work of President Obama and the Democratic Senate and Congress continue! Elect Martha Coakley!

We are making phone calls for her from Iowa!

    Mississippi? Without a doubt.

    Alabama? Inevitable.

    Texas? A foregone conclusion.

Having said that, I refuse to believe that – given all that the GOP has done to this once-great nation in the past decade – the good people of Massachusetts would be stupid enough to send a Republican to Washington at this point in our history.

I’m sorry but I just refuse to believe it.
