2012 GOP Roundup

There’s a few interesting pieces in the news today about the potential 2012 GOP presidential candidates. Tops is perhaps the news that Fox News has give Donald Trump a morning spot on Mondays:

Next in the news… Newt Gingrich has got himself a sugar daddy: “Gingrich’s financial angel — a casino mogul with legal woes.”

Gingrich’s financial angel is the publicity-shy Sheldon Adelson, chairman of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., and the fifth wealthiest man in America as recently ranked by Forbes Magazine.

Adelson, who has an estimated net worth of over $23 billion, has personally pumped $7 million over the past five years into Gingrich’s main political advocacy organization, American Solutions for Winning the Future.

And what about Mitt and Michelle?

The WaPo reported today that Michele Bachmann has collected “$2 million in first fundraising quarter,” and her haul has topped Mitt Romney’s:

Bachmann, a tea party favorite, has been getting increasing attention as Sarah Palin appears increasingly unlikely to run.
