Whether it is lawful or not, whether
you have to tell the truth or not.

Chuck Todd of NBC has an interview with the President up, in which, the headline breathlessly proclaims:

President Obama said Thursday that he is “sorry” that some Americans are losing their current health insurance plans as a result of the Affordable Care Act, despite his promise that no one would have to give up a health plan they liked.

“I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,” he told NBC News in an exclusive interview at the White House.

“We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.”

And the poison pill is added:

malkin-eyes

Obama’s comments come 10 days after NBC News’ Lisa Myers reported that the administration has known since the summer of 2010 that millions of Americans could lose their insurance under the law…

Yeah, we get it: the reality of the sleazemerchants that run the insurance companies is based on con games and lies, since insurance is AT BOTTOM, ONLY about money — taking it in and doling it out as gingerly as possible. And the Republicans deal exclusively in lies. And Faux Nooz deals, increasingly, exclusively with lies and propaganda, but …

THE PRESIDENT LIED! That’s the pre-schooler’s takeaway from all of this. Now, what does the adult in the room do?

To better understand that, let’s look at what the infant in the room does:

Rand Paul

Plagiarist AND liar

Rand Paul got caught stealing: plagiarizing. And then he got caught lying about it.

So, he finally, after a solid week of stonewalling and accusing those who caught him of being ‘haters’* told his hometown journals that changes would be made, and they’d add “footnotes,” just like a “college paper.”

Which is childish and foolish and infantile and the perfect Republican end to another Republican lying without expecting any consequences. After all, mendacity is the lingua franca of Republicanism in these blighted days.

Interesting how the “free market” libertarians have no problem with ripping off other people’s writings, just as the “free market” capitalists of the GOP have a long history of stealing music during campaigns.

Except that our beloved print and yak media never seem to make much of a deal of rich bastards stealing music from not all that well-to-do musicians. Thieves not being called out for being thieves is just another sign that civilization and ‘rule of law’ is deteriorating, which leads to the inevitable result of a lot of bloodshed to get back on track. When lawmakers are criminals, there is no law.

No, the best we get is an idiotic “I don’t mind” from one of the parties plagiarized.

crybaby wimp

Senator Paul from Kentucky: “If that will
get them to leave me the hell alone!”

Just because the molested child thinks he/she gave consent doesn’t NOT make it statutory rape. Ditto plagiarism. It is a crime, whether the victim thinks so or not, because it is a crime against the greater community, not necessarily the victim of the crime. Just as those poor dumb conned women in Oregon complained when the Attorney General shut down their Ponzi/Pyramid game … that they’d been swindled into. Just because the victim is willing does not lessen the crime.

The nature of any good con game is that the mark must never know they’ve been conned, after all, as anybody who watched “The Sting”  (1973) knows.

If there is no law, then the law of the jungle prevails and anyone can do anything. At the top this already seems to be the case, but that must cease. And a bunch of congenital liars complaining that the President “lied” has got to be the most outrageous version of the pot lecturing the kettle in the annals of self-filibustering moronicism.

Republicans lie, and no one says a word.

serpent-poisoning-lambs

We can have this war for NOTHING! It will pay for itself.

And to destroy Obamacare, they have engaged in an endless Tower of Babble constructed of lies, and still they continue to Babbleon. Faux Nooz has literally become “All Obamacare Lies All The Time!” and all but ignored Tuesday night’s elections to focus on (Hannity) a focus group on whether the President “lied.”*

[* Ask yourself this: given the difference rhetorically between “If you like your adequate and affordable health insurance coverage, you can keep it,” with “People are losing their shell game carney swindle health care plans, and therefore the President has betrayed the nation!” which nuance better reflects reality? Because, Republican belief systems notwithstanding, bumperstickers do not a philosophy make.]

Except, the vast majority of those ‘canceled policies’ are substandard “junk” policies that are NOT ALLOWED under Obamacare, because, in essence, they take without ever giving back. A CON, in other words.

Any real media attention?

The Gingrich Steals Another Christmas

The Gingrich who Stole Christmas®

No.

Just the endless drumbeat about Obama lying that you could keep your slimy insurance company’s crap insurance. And no acknowledgement that the REASON for Obamacare is, in part, because of these predatory practices, literally extracting blood money from unsuspecting individuals who would be destroyed in a crisis, and find that their “health insurance” lifeline was a leaky innertube tossed casually from the back of a ship steaming rapidly away.

The President apologized.

obama speech to the nation

Let’s see if any Republican ever does that.

mission-accomplished

Don’t hold your breath.

And, no, Obamacare is NOT “the government getting in between your doctor and you. Obamacare is the government forcing your INSURER to not screw you over as it gets between your physician and you.

But what the hell.

As I told you last week: the battle lines are drawn, and millions of Americans on all sides of this issue are sick of hearing about it. And CANNOT have their minds changed (except for that American mulishness that if you tell us we CAN’T have it, or CAN’T do it, we will then DEMAND to have it and do it).  Nothing Faux Nooz can say will have any effect. Because, in essence, the debate is now over.

us-them-2

Still, Democrats can’t be expected to show spine for TOO long …

Frustration among even some Democrats supportive of the Obamacare bill boiled over this week as coverage of the dropped plans continued…

This blather will continue until something vicious and spectacular destroys the healthcare initiative, OR it works (as it is doing) and only unelectable morons blather on about it in their rubber rooms,  as the electable morons are doing as we speak.

When the truth isn’t in your vocabulary, don’t complain about the so-called lies of others.

Devil Disguised as Monk

Courage.

One Response to Today in Mendacity

  1. swats says:

Does this really qualify as an apology? It seems he is saying, “I did the right thing–I’m sorry that it didn’t work for you.” That is hardly an apology.

Mr. Williams replies: And yet you are wholly a troll.

The email address you have provided is for the Fremont Berean Baptist Church in Fremont, Nebraska. Are you Pastor Steve? Or are you attempting to smear that church? — which, in either case, pretty much lets us know all we NEED to know about you.
