Gotten over your post-election 2008 hang-over, yet? If you haven’t, there’s still plenty of news still coming out about what President-elect Obama hopes to do too keep some, if not most, of his campaign promises. There’s also still a lot of post-mortem discussion about the McCain-Palin campaign. Today, President-elect Obama will be meeting with Lame-Duck President Bush. Can’t wait to hear what Letterman and Leno have to say about all that. Hopefully, our late-night hosts’ jokes are more tasteful than the racially-tinged and hateful jokes I was told, all weekend, about Barack Obama and what a Obama White House may look or sound like. Despite the end of campaign season, there is still plenty of news to chew on. Keep … Continue reading
It seems as if everybody is coming down from their collective presidential election hang-over. President-elect Barack Obama has already begun picking the people who will be in his administration (much to the chagrin of many Progressives). President Bush is continuing his lame-duck administration, unfortunately, that doesn’t include another lengthy vacation on the Crawford ranch. Right now, I am feeling part, light-hearted and part, apprehensive. We finally have a president who will bring change and I am confident that he will be a far better president than the guy who currently has the job, so I’m not stressing Obama, right now. But, then, we still have GWB in office and the news isn’t good, as he’s trying to mix up as … Continue reading
Well, the good news is, the presidential election is finally over. Obama/Biden clinched it and McCain/Palin are slinking off into the sunset, but not without leaving a trail of “shoulda-coulda-woulda” in their wake. We are very, very lucky that Bible Spice did not get anywhere near the Oval office in any kind of “official” capacity, is all I’m sayin’. Of course, the bad news, if the blogosphere is any indication, is that right out of the gate, Obama has made a pick for Chief of Staff that not many progressives are very pleased with. Too bad for Obama, that halo was starting to fit nicely. It is kind of a relief to be reassured that our President-elect is, indeed, a … Continue reading
Before we just roll right into today’s Ten Post Round-Up, I just gotta say, “Wow! Just: Wow!”. Wow: At the voter turnout. Young folks finally got off their humps to vote for a change. (No pun, intended) Wow: At the fact, that despite all the shenanigans perpetrated by electronic voting machines and some “operatives” at the polls and some operatives trying to trick people into missing the polls, FINALLY, this was on election that they couldn’t flip. Wow: At the fact that for whatever reasons: the economy, the war, civil rights (particularly for LGBT citizens), or women’s rights, even Americans who said they would never vote for a black person, voted for a man who is not only African-American, but … Continue reading
Yippy! Hurray! It’s election day and we’re down to the very last nail-biting, brain-numbing hours of playing “Election Day Shuffleboard”. How can you NOT be excited? Whether your candidate of choice wins or not, today’s election is historic on so many levels. We’ve got race, we’ve got sex, we’ve even got the crazy! And, very, very, long lines. And, of course, election machines that act more like those electronic gaming machines at your local casino (oh, you may think the odds are in your favor, but just watch as the machine eats your vote and gives it to the other guy!). Oh, yeah! Can’t you smell the excitement in the air (or is that something else…)? I’m not going to … Continue reading
It’s election eve and a lot of people are kind of feeling like it’s the night before Christmas. Sadly, tomorrow may be the day when a lot of people will discover whether or not there really is a Santa Claus. Many of us will sit under our television sets, waiting to see what results pop down the chimney. Many of us will likely go to bed, not knowing what Santa left. Many of us will wake up with coal in our stockings. Many of us may wake up with a “nightmare before Christmas“. There is a lot of pre-election night chatter on the blogs, right now. I’ve managed to gather a few for you in today’s Ten Post Round-Up. One … Continue reading
Good morning you ghouls and goblins and you imps of progressive political mischief (you know who you are). Pull up your candy corn and morning cuppa for a special Halloween edition of today’s Ten Post Round-Up. There are only 4 days left before we experience some kind of change in the political, national, and international landscape. If that doesn’t scare you, then nothing will! But, honestly, you haven’t seen scary until you have checked out this YouTube. It’s positively eerie: “Thriller”… with Legos
I don’t have anything really snarky to say, today. I’m plotting my post for tomorrow (specially Halloween edition) and so all the really cool stuff I could say about today’s post pretty much ended up on the cutting room floor. So, take today’s Ten Post Round-Up with a grain of salt and your morning cuppa and remember that in less than one week, we WILL have a new president, whether you like him or not (Mwahhahahahaha!)…no, seriously. As if you haven’t heard about enough polls, this election, take some time to check out this poll of the World of Warcraft online community: Election Duel! Obama V. McCain – Who Get’s Pwned?
